Roméo urgently contacted me to mix his short fiction film Rouge Rudy. I only had two days to complete the mixing of a 30-minute film, in anticipation of a screening at a major cinema in Montpellier. This challenge required a 5.1 re-recording mix, where every detail mattered. I had to be flawless in my work, maintaining constant objectivity throughout the process. The working nights were intense, but I managed to combine efficiency and rigor to deliver a result that met expectations. This experience was both stimulating and rewarding, and I was pleased to contribute to the satisfaction of Roméo and his team by providing a high-quality re-recording mix in such a short timeframe.

Film synopsis
Rudy, a lonely young man in his twenties, has been working in a convenience store at night for a few years. He lives with his mother, a woman mourning the death of her husband. As a result, she is very protective of Rudy, inadvertently imprisoning him. Mauve, a woman who works at the nightclub next to the convenience store, comes in every evening to buy something and take the opportunity to ask Rudy to visit her at work. Under his mother's pressure, Rudy must return home as soon as possible. But that night, Mauve drops her necklace, and Rudy feels compelled to return it to her. He will discover a different world from the one he lives in: an extraordinary, beautiful, and festive world. After this revelation, Rudy must confront his mother to fight for his freedom, despite the love that binds them.

After the screening of the film, Roméo and I decided to continue working on the re-recording mix of Rouge Rudy to delve deeper into the film's sound depth. By taking our time, we were able to test and experiment with various techniques to enhance the sound's impact. The film, with its shocking and moving scenes, deserved a sound treatment that reflected the harshness of the story. In summary, our goal was to ensure that the sound was as impactful as the emotions conveyed on screen. This way, we were able to create an even more immersive and poignant experience for the audience.
